Everyone here at Over Day Centre would like to honour Wendy Unwin, who has been volunteering with us since our charity was founded by Dr Pamela Cressey nearly 35 years ago.
It was with equal celebrations and sadness that our clients, staff and trustees wished Wendy a very happy retirement yesterday. Wendy has done everything from preparing the lunches, escorting on the minibus, cleaning, helping with fundraisers, and supporting our clients and staff with daily activities.
There's one role, however, that we're delighted to say that Wendy won't be giving up, and that's being our professional hairdresser. We have our own on-site salon and Wendy will continue to offer our clients her services when required.
Thank you to Rebecca Mitchell for helping us to celebrate Wendy's retirement with a fabulous afternoon of live country music!
