Progress on the garden at Over Day Centre

Just a quick update on how our garden area is progressing. This will be for client use to grow all kinds of plants, including fruit and veg for lunches prepared in our onsite kitchen by our Cook, Melissa Setchell.

NGU Construction have now built raised beds, including some that are wheelchair accessible. The seating has arrived (which will enable clients to chill out whilst catching a few rays of sunshine).

We're now waiting for the trellising and garden tools to be delivered, and for our greenhouse to be installed.

What a big difference from the building site this area was several months ago!

None of this would have been possible without the grants and donations that we've kindly received from various trusts and charitable organisations - not forgetting the money raised through events such as the 5 Pub Challenge and the annual Bike Rides.

I haven't been coming long but I can tell you that this is a great place. The staff are so lovely and they are such good carers. They are checking on everyone all the time. As soon as they think someone needs help, they are there straightaway. They are just very lovely carers and look after us. I like that we are always doing things like quizzes and games.
