July birthdays

It's been a busy month for birthdays here at the Day Centre!

Firstly, on 3 July Dave was 21 again (!) and celebrated his birthday by bringing in a caterpillar cake to share with his friends. The birthday boy chose to spend his time doing jigsaw puzzles (a favourite hobby other than gardening) and was assisted by work experience students Charlotte and Leo.

Then on 17 July we had a double birthday celebration as staff and clients wished Sue and Barry the very best with a loud rendition of 'Happy Birthday'. And thank you to Ann's daughter for making the fabulous chocolate cake!

This was followed by two further client birthdays: Mary and Jo. On both occasions there were fabulous (and enormous) homemade birthday cakes to share amongst the clients. We hope that our birthday duo enjoyed spending their special day with friends and staff at the Day Centre!

"I feel happy here. If I didn't come, I'd be at home on my own. It's always good here. At home I don't have anything to do. I'm on my own unless my daughter or son visit. You know, it makes me smile to come to the Day Centre. There's no complaints from me. Nothing I'd change. There's a lot of laughs with the staff and everyone else".
