Coronation celebrations at Over Day Centre!

What a fabulous day we had celebrating the coronation of Charles III. The Day Centre was decorated with bunting and decorations made by the clients, including crowns that some of them wore at lunch. Musical entertainment was provided in the morning by The Crofters and we were delighted to invite Aimi Percival to sing in the afternoon. All the staff and clients joined in with the songs, and a few of them even got up and danced.

Big thank you to the kitchen staff for cooking a delicious roast beef dinner (with all the trimmings), followed by chocolate gateaux and sherry.

Afternoon tea and cake arrived on a cake stand shaped like the coronation carriage, and the day concluded with everyone standing to sing the National Anthem. Every client also received a commemorative pin badge.

My mother, Jean, attends the Over Day Centre on two days per week, sometimes three (if there are events, like craft/art sessions that she wants to attend as an extra). Mum first started attending the Day Centre as I was so worried that she was getting lonely and, as she was not able to drive anymore, was not having an active life. Right from the start the Centre has been marvellous for her.
