5Pub Challenge 2026

A massive thank you for all walking (or running) the 5Pub Challenge on Sunday. Your generosity in donations will provide over £2,500 in much needed funds to help in the building of a new Day Room extension.

Whilst the weather may have deterred some walkers, what started out under grey sky's turned out to be a glorious British summer's day with a little sunshine in the afternoon.

Speaking to the pub manager's on route they were all very appreciative of your custom, with light food on offer at The Three Tuns, Swavesey Windmill and The Admiral.

We will post a full report once we have the final figures, information that will be on our 'fundraising' page and posted on Facebook.

We are very grateful to all those who donated raffle prizes and cakes, your continued support is fabulous.

Our final thanks goes to all our brilliant volunteers who helped with registration, raffle tickets and welcoming walkers back to The Admiral to enjoy cake, collect their certificate and, for those fortunate to win, a raffle prizes.

We look forward to seeing you next year, as always, second Sunday, May 8

My mother, Jean, attends the Over Day Centre on two days per week, sometimes three (if there are events, like craft/art sessions that she wants to attend as an extra). Mum first started attending the Day Centre as I was so worried that she was getting lonely and, as she was not able to drive anymore, was not having an active life. Right from the start the Centre has been marvellous for her.
