Our 16th Round of the 5Pub Challenge was completed on Sunday, May 10. Although the weather was forecast to be a little damp, we did enjoy some blue skies that was enjoyed by 170 walkers. The route had a couple of changes this year, visiting 5 pubs on the 12.5 mile walk, along the River Great Ouse, adjoining meadows, Fen Drayton Nature Reserve and Over Orchard back to the Over.
An incredible array of cakes and raffle prizes welcomed walkers on their return, prizes donated by local businesses and friends of the Over Day Centre.

Thanks must go to the pubs Pike & Eel at Needingworth, The Ferryboat at Holywell, Three Tuns at Fen Drayton, Swavesey Windmill and The Admiral at Over. It was great to visit Swavesey Windmill for the first time and be able to return to The Admiral. All pu s reported that they had a steady flow of customers and appreciated greatly your visits.
Again it’s with thanks to our generous sponsors NGU Construction and Ashcroft Vets whose contributions met event expenses so that all donations from walkers will go to the Over Day Centre, this year to help raise funds for a new day room extension. In all, a sum of just over £2,740 was raised, that considering the weather impacted event is a fabulous total.

We look forward to the 17th 5 Pub Challenge in May 2027.
